Binggrae is accelerating the overseas expansion of Banana-Flavored Milk as the South Korean dairy brand gains traction with international consumers. Maeil Business News Korea reported on Monday, November 2, that overseas sales rose 12.7 percent year over year in the first nine months of 2026.
Exports broaden the growth platform
Binggrae said sales last year were 96 percent higher than in 2021, while the number of export markets increased from 18 to 25. Banana-Flavored Milk, launched in 1974, has been Korea's top-selling processed milk product for more than five decades.
The company established an Australian subsidiary in December 2025, its fourth overseas base after China, the United States and Vietnam. Local original equipment manufacturing began in January 2026, giving Binggrae a production platform that could support entry into the European Union, where dairy import rules are stringent.
Packaging supports longer-distance sales
Binggrae has developed shelf-stable products in aseptic cartons to extend shelf life and make long-distance distribution easier. The company has also broadened the range beyond banana with strawberry, melon, vanilla, coffee and taro flavors, while halal certification is helping open markets in the Middle East.
In South Korea, Binggrae is targeting foreign tourists with dedicated displays at Olive Young stores in Myeongdong, Hongdae and Busan, as well as at Incheon International Airport and Jongno in Seoul. The campaign has also helped popularize Banana Milk Latte, which combines the product with Americano coffee and ice.
Binggrae's business and market position

Its portfolio includes ice cream, dairy drinks and cheese, fermented milk products, coffee, other beverages, snacks and desserts sold under multiple brands.
