- The bank is conducting due diligence on Argentine broker Portfolio Personal Inversiones.
- The review confirms the transaction stage but not a closing date or purchase price.
- The potential deal would broaden Banco de Valores' digital investment offering beyond its corporate and institutional focus.
Banco de Valores is conducting due diligence for a possible acquisition of Argentine broker Portfolio Personal Inversiones, or PPI. Bloomberg Línea reported the development on Wednesday, October 14, 2026, citing a person with direct knowledge of the matter.
Deal review has not reached closing
The review concerns PPI, an Argentine settlement and clearing agent that operates a digital investment platform. Bloomberg Línea said it could confirm the due-diligence stage but not the timing reported elsewhere for a possible closing. Banco de Valores has not disclosed a purchase price and declined to comment on the reports, according to the publication.
If completed, the transaction would add digital investment services for individuals, companies, institutions and external financial advisers. That would extend Banco de Valores' existing focus on corporate and institutional clients, where it does not operate as a traditional retail bank with a branch network.
Strategic reach in capital markets
Banco de Valores was founded in 1978 and is based in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Its business covers corporate banking, investment banking through VALO Columbus, sales and trading, capital markets, fiduciary services, cash management, international business and liquidity solutions, according to the company's investor-relations page. The bank also provides custody and mutual-fund services and operates regional subsidiaries in Montevideo and Asunción.
For investors, the key issue is execution risk: due diligence can still uncover conditions that alter the transaction or prevent completion. The next material milestones are the review's conclusion, any binding agreement and confirmation of the purchase price.
