ASSAD plans to list its Algerian subsidiary, Batterie ASSAD Algérie, on the Algiers Stock Exchange between December 2026 and April 2027. African Manager reported the plan after the group’s ordinary general meeting on October 30, 2026.
IPO aims to fund capacity growth
Batterie ASSAD Algérie is wholly owned by ASSAD’s subsidiary ATA. The planned transaction is based on a pre-money valuation of 92.4 million Tunisian dinars, while ASSAD intends to retain between 70% and 75% of the Algerian business after the listing.
Management plans to use the capital to support industrial development at the Bouira site. Annual production capacity is targeted to exceed one million batteries by 2031, alongside a recycling facility and a battery-plate manufacturing unit. The expansion is intended to strengthen the group’s position in Algeria and support wider growth in sub-Saharan Africa.
Recovery plan includes liquidity support
ASSAD expects a significant recovery in Tunisian commercial activity during the fourth quarter of 2026. Management said the final quarter traditionally contributes nearly 40% of annual revenue and linked the outlook to a catch-up effect.
The group also plans to introduce a liquidity contract for its shares. The stated objective is to improve trading conditions and bring the market valuation closer to the underlying business fundamentals.
Battery producer serves several markets
ASSAD designs, manufactures, distributes and recycles lead-acid starter batteries in Tunisia. Its products serve automotive, marine, solar-energy, leisure, industrial, information-technology and telecommunications applications, while its international activities cover markets including the Maghreb and Europe. The company describes itself as Tunisia’s national battery leader and has operated since 1938, according to its company profile.
