Second-quarter results improve

Asia Polymer returned to profit in the second quarter of 2026 as revenue increased year over year, according to Simply Wall St. The report published on Aug 19 said the Taiwanese polymer producer generated net income of NT$29.7 million, compared with a net loss of NT$296.2 million in the second quarter of 2025.

Revenue rose 16 percent to NT$1.55 billion from NT$1.34 billion a year earlier. Earnings per share improved to NT$0.05 from a loss of NT$0.50, while the net profit margin reached 1.9 percent. The figures point to a recovery in operating conditions, although profitability remained limited relative to sales.

Recovery remains margin-sensitive

The earnings improvement was primarily driven by higher revenue, according to the analysis. Investors still face a weaker longer-term backdrop: Simply Wall St said Asia Polymer's earnings had declined sharply over the preceding five years and identified revenue and earnings growth as a major risk.

The company's latest reported quarter ended June 30, 2026. The earnings release gives investors a clearer benchmark for the next update: sustaining revenue growth and expanding margins will be central to whether the return to profit develops into a broader recovery.

Resins for regional markets

Asia Polymer designs, develops, produces and sells low-density polyethylene, or LDPE, and ethylene-vinyl acetate, or EVA, resins in Taiwan, across Asia and internationally. Its products serve applications including films, packaging, foams, wire and cable insulation, photovoltaic films and hot-melt adhesives.

Simply Wall St lists Ocean Plastics, China General Plastics and Formosan Rubber Group as comparable Taiwanese companies. Their market capitalizations are in a similar range, while Asia Polymer remains differentiated by its focus on LDPE and EVA resin products.
