Energy Storage joint venture completed
In a Wärtsilä release, Wärtsilä Corporation said it completed the transaction for its Energy Storage joint venture with RCT Solutions GmbH on October 1, 2026. Each company holds a 50 percent stake in the venture, which is called Valo.
The release said Wärtsilä’s Energy Storage business employs approximately 450 people globally and generated EUR 694 million in net sales in 2025. The transaction represents less than 5 percent of Wärtsilä’s total net assets. Wärtsilä also said Valo is expected to generate an operating loss in 2026 and positive results toward the end of 2027, according to the company’s release.
