Spanish operating model reorganized
On September 30, 2026, Telefonica said its Board of Directors had approved a simplified operating model for Telefonica España. The structure creates three independent units: B2B Spain, B2C Spain and Wholesale Spain. The company said the model is intended to sharpen segment focus, streamline the organization and accelerate decision-making. Telefonica said the new management and reporting model does not change Telefonica España’s legal structure or the group’s financial reporting.
Focus on digital services
The B2B unit will serve companies and public administrations in Spain and expand cybersecurity, cloud, data, artificial intelligence, Internet of Things, and defense and security capabilities into other European markets. Telefonica Tech will be fully integrated into B2B Spain, while B2C Spain will cover residential connectivity, television, devices and Movistar Plus content. The company reported first-half 2026 Telefonica España revenue of EUR 6.51 billion and adjusted EBITDA of EUR 2.30 billion in the release. It also reported more than 16 million mobile contract accesses and churn of 0.7 percent.
