Study reports lower infection hazard

In a September 29, 2026 release, Teleflex Incorporated said a prospective multinational study of 1,750 critically ill patients across six hospitals in four countries found that central venous catheters protected with Arrowg+ard Technology were associated with a 70 percent lower hazard of central line-associated bloodstream infections than plain, non-impregnated catheters during a 30-day period. The reported hazard ratio was 0.297, with a 95 percent confidence interval of 0.134 to 0.658 and a p-value of 0.003.

The company said the findings were published in the American Journal of Infection Control in an article examining time to infection for plain versus chlorhexidine/silver sulfadiazine-impregnated central venous catheters.
