On September 10, Tate & Lyle announced that it had been included in TIME Magazine and Statista’s World’s Best Companies 2026 list. The company said it was one of around 50 food and drink businesses recognized among the 1,000 companies included in the ranking, and that this was its first appearance on the list. Tate & Lyle published the announcement.
Earlier, on September 2, Tate & Lyle announced updated science-based targets validated by the Science Based Targets initiative. The targets include reducing absolute Scope 1 and 2 greenhouse-gas emissions by 63 percent and Scope 3 emissions by 63 percent by the year ended March 31, 2036, against a March 31, 2022, base year. The company also set a 43 percent reduction target for Scope 3 forests, land and agriculture emissions and a no-deforestation target for primary deforestation-linked commodities by December 31, 2027. Tate & Lyle said the updated targets apply to its expanded footprint and supply chain following the 2024 acquisition of CP Kelco.
