Take-Two enters Xbox licensing agreement
Take-Two Interactive Software, Inc. said in a Form 8-K filed with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission that it and Microsoft entered a new long-term Xbox Publisher License Agreement on September 28, 2026, with an effective date of September 17, 2026. The agreement grants Take-Two rights to develop, publish, manufacture, market, advertise, distribute and sell Xbox-compatible products for all Xbox devices. It replaces the company’s existing Xbox publisher license agreements with Microsoft, according to the SEC filing.
The filing said Microsoft will pay Take-Two the applicable wholesale price and/or agreed revenue share for digitally delivered products and content sold by Microsoft. Microsoft also has rights to review, evaluate and approve game concepts and final versions, while fees and royalties apply to physical media products manufactured on Take-Two’s behalf, the SEC filing said.
