The company’s fee result rose 11 percent to CHF 430 million, while profit from operations increased 8 percent in local currency to CHF 967 million, according to the Swiss Life Holding first-half 2026 earnings call transcript published September 1, 2026.
Buyback and efficiency measures
Swiss Life Holding said it had completed its CHF 750 million share buyback in May 2026 and announced a new CHF 250 million program running from October 2026 through March 2027. The repurchased shares are to be proposed for cancellation at the company’s upcoming annual general meeting, the transcript said.
Management also outlined plans to reduce around 600 positions by the end of 2028, largely through natural attrition. The company expects the measures to generate annual cost savings of around CHF 150 million from 2029 onward.

Gross written premiums, fees and deposits received increased 3 percent in local currency to CHF 12.3 billion in the first half. Fee and commission income rose 7 percent in local currency to CHF 1.3 billion, while the return on equity was 20.2 percent on an annualized basis.
