First-half results and workforce plan

In an EQS-distributed release dated September 1, 2026, Swiss Life Holding AG reported unaudited IFRS net profit of CHF 649 million for the first half of 2026, up 8 percent from the prior-year period. Profit from operations reached CHF 967 million, also rising 8 percent in local currency, while the fee result increased 11 percent in local currency to CHF 430 million.

The same release said Swiss Life plans to reduce around 600 positions by the end of 2028, largely through natural attrition. Roughly half of the positions are at Swiss Life in Switzerland and half at Swiss Life Asset Managers, mainly abroad. The company said around 100 positions had already been reduced through selective vacancy filling and that it expected around 100 redundancies by the end of 2026.

Reuters reported that Swiss Life described the workforce reduction as part of an effort to improve efficiency and expand its business beyond 2027. The company also announced a CHF 250 million share-buyback program in its September 1 release, scheduled to run from October 1, 2026, through the end of March 2027.
