New sensor products and R&D project
In a September 22, 2026 release, STMicroelectronics announced two 6-axis motion sensors for consumer and industrial applications. The LSM6DSK320X and ISM6HGK256X are designed for uses including fitness trackers, industrial asset monitors, robots and drones. Development boards are scheduled to be available from the eSTore and distributors by November 2026.
STMicroelectronics also presented a project for an R&D Digital Twin center at its Castelletto site in Italy in a September 15, 2026 feature. The company said the center will be developed in two phases, with the first running through the end of 2027, and is expected to employ up to 250 people as part of ST’s R&D team. STMicroelectronics said the project will connect modeling, simulation, data, artificial intelligence and silicon feedback in an integrated R&D environment.
