Sempra's recent company disclosures highlighted a long-term LNG agreement and a utility-focused investment strategy. The developments are dated September 14 and September 8, 2026, respectively.
Long-term LNG agreement
Sempra said on September 14 that its subsidiary Sempra Infrastructure had signed a 20-year sales and purchase agreement with Petrobras. The agreement covers approximately 0.8 million tonnes per annum of liquefied natural gas sourced from contracted capacity at the Port Arthur LNG Phase 2 project in Texas.
Utility investment strategy
In a September 8 release, Sempra said its utility growth strategy is supported by a record $65 billion 2026-2030 capital plan. Approximately 95% of planned investments are directed toward regulated utilities, according to the company.
The same release said Sempra aims to generate approximately 95% of earnings from regulated U.S. utilities in 2027 and have more than 60% of its rate base located in Texas through the end of the decade.
