Court ruling in NTS shareholder dispute

SalmonBusiness reported on September 23 that Frostating Court of Appeal unanimously upheld an earlier ruling by Trøndelag District Court in an appeal brought by former NTS minority shareholders seeking a higher payout. The case concerns SalMar’s takeover of NTS and the subsequent compulsory acquisition of the remaining shares.

SalMar CEO Frode Arntsen said the company was not surprised by the outcome and that both courts had found the redemption process consistent with Norwegian securities law, according to the report. NTS was later merged into SalMar and dissolved in December 2023.
