Repsol and Eni are considering bringing outside investors into the Perla natural gas field off Venezuela's coast, according to a Bloomberg Línea report published October 3, 2026. The report said the two companies each own 50 percent of the offshore joint venture and are evaluating whether to sell part of their stakes to raise funds for field development. Repsol and Eni declined to comment, the report said.
The report also said the partners had signed an agreement with Caracas to begin exporting gas from Venezuela by the end of 2031. Their stated objective is to more than double Perla's production and export liquefied natural gas from a floating terminal, according to Bloomberg Línea.
