Electrolyzer shipment to New Zealand
On September 22, 2026, Plug Power announced the shipment of a 1 MW GenEco PEM electrolyzer to HWR Hydrogen, a division of H.W. Richardson Group Limited. The unit is planned for installation at HWR Hydrogen’s refueling station in Invercargill, New Zealand, where it is intended to produce hydrogen for HWR’s dual-fuel hydrogen-diesel heavy-truck fleet, according to the GlobeNewswire release issued by Plug Power.
The release said the project adds to Plug Power’s presence in New Zealand and Australia, including electrolyzer technology supporting Hiringa Energy’s green hydrogen refueling network. It also identified Plug Power’s selection to supply a 50 MW GenEco PEM electrolyzer system for Orica’s Hunter Valley Hydrogen Hub in Australia.
