Reuters reported that China imposed a 15 percent tariff on U.S. LNG in February 2025 and stopped buying U.S. LNG the following month after tariffs on U.S. energy products took effect. The report also noted that China Gas Holdings signed a 20-year agreement in September to buy 0.5 million metric tons of U.S. LNG annually from Venture Global starting in 2030.
