Workera acquisition agreed

Pearson said on September 29 that it had agreed to acquire Workera, an AI-native skills intelligence platform focused on workforce skills measurement and verification. Workera combines artificial intelligence, psychometrics and adaptive assessment, according to the Pearson release distributed by PR Newswire.

Upon completion, Workera is expected to become part of Pearson’s Enterprise Learning & Skills business unit, while Workera co-founder and CEO Kian Katanforoosh is expected to join its leadership team. Completion is expected in the second half of 2026, subject to customary closing conditions and any required regulatory approvals, the release said.

Board appointments

Pearson also announced on September 23 that Michael Barkin and Vivek Sharma would join as independent non-executive directors, alongside non-executive director Alex Svensson. All three appointments are scheduled to take effect on October 1, according to Pearson.
