Openreach expands UK optical capacity
According to TelecomTV, the deployment covers 3.2Tb of scalable capacity over diverse fiber routes in the United Kingdom. The solution supports 400G and 800G client traffic over dedicated 1.6Tb/s wavelengths, with a 2RU chassis supporting up to 32 400G services. Ciena is also providing support for deployment, monitoring and maintenance of Openreach's optical product.
Earlier financial targets
In a September 16, 2026 release, Business Wire reported that Ciena set fiscal 2029 targets including approximately 30 percent revenue compound annual growth from 2026 through 2029, adjusted gross margin of approximately 50 percent, adjusted operating margin of 32 percent to 35 percent and free cash flow margins of approximately 20 percent.
