New slurry pump test rig in Sweden
In a press release dated September 30, 2026, Metso Corporation said it had commissioned a new 4-MW extra-large slurry pump test rig at its Test and Training Center in Sala, Sweden. The company said the facility was fully operational and that the first tests had been completed.
The rig can test pumps at flows of up to 25,000 cubic meters per hour and covers Metso’s current slurry pump sizes up to MD900. The company said the investment expands product development, testing and technology demonstration capabilities. Metso also said a new 5,400-square-meter warehouse and delivery center will expand the Sala site’s total building area from approximately 21,000 square meters to more than 26,000 square meters.
