Network cooperation to end
In an October 1, 2026 service update, Maersk said a joint decision with CMA CGM will end the current cooperation on the ASAS2 Asia to East Coast South America service. The last voyage under the arrangement is scheduled to depart Shanghai on December 8, 2026. Maersk said its separate ASAS service will continue as a fully Maersk-operated and Maersk-controlled product.
Peak-season surcharge revised
Maersk also published an October 1, 2026 rate announcement revising peak-season surcharges for shipments from the Indian Subcontinent and Middle East to the U.S. East Coast and Gulf, effective October 2, 2026. The announcement applies to specified origins, destinations and container types and excludes spot bookings. Maersk said the revised tariff levels are subject to other applicable charges.
