New simulator building in Italy
Leonardo opened a new building at its Sesto Calende facility in Italy on October 5, 2026, dedicated to developing and manufacturing helicopter flight simulators, according to an issuer release. The building covers more than 6,000 square meters and can accommodate up to five simulators. Leonardo said the site had more than 610 employees in 2025, compared with around 470 in 2022.
DDX destroyer program
In dated background, Orizzonte Sistemi Navali, a joint venture in which Leonardo holds 49 percent, signed a contract on September 24, 2026, with OCCAR for two DDX destroyers for the Italian Navy. The total contract value was approximately EUR 3.7 billion, including approximately EUR 1.3 billion in options. The issuer release said a planned sub-supply contract with Leonardo was worth approximately EUR 1.7 billion, including approximately EUR 480 million in options.
