Jungheinrich has handed over an automated logistics center to Deutsche Aircraft at Leipzig/Halle Airport. The facility is part of Deutsche Aircraft’s industrialization strategy for its D328eco regional aircraft program, according to a Jungheinrich press release dated October 6, 2026.
Combined warehouse systems
The installation combines Jungheinrich’s PowerCube automated container compact warehouse with an automated AutoVNA narrow-aisle warehouse under a common control system. The PowerCube provides more than 6,500 container spaces across 26 levels on about 210 square meters, while the narrow-aisle warehouse handles 624 pallets, the company said.
Production ramp-up
The logistics center is designed to provide automated material supply for the industrialization and final assembly of the D328eco. The facility is configured for two-shift operation and can be expanded to three shifts. In its final configuration, Deutsche Aircraft plans for the Leipzig/Halle site to employ 250 to 350 people and produce up to 48 aircraft per year, according to the release.
