German industrial project role extended
On September 24, Jacobs said it had been selected to extend its role on thyssenkrupp Steel’s direct reduction plant in Duisburg, Germany. The company will continue providing project management office, construction management and assembly management services as the hydrogen-capable facility advances toward first iron production, according to the Jacobs release.
Jacobs said the plant is expected to produce approximately 2.5 million metric tons of direct reduced iron annually once complete. Its responsibilities include coordinating design, logistics and construction.
Konrad Repository support contract
On September 22, Jacobs announced that it had been awarded a contract by Bundesgesellschaft für Endlagerung mbH to provide project support services for the Konrad Repository project in Salzgitter, Germany. The scope includes assessing construction progress, reviewing schedules and cost plans, and supporting delivery optimization, the company said.
