A Hochtief AG-published release dated September 14 said CIMIC Group company UGL had been awarded a contract by APA Group for the Sybella Solar Farm and Battery Energy Storage System project in Mount Isa, Queensland. UGL is contracted to deliver engineering design, procurement, construction and commissioning for a 72-megawatt solar farm and a 52-megawatt / 104-megawatt-hour battery system. Construction is anticipated to start in late 2026, with completion expected in mid-2028, according to the Hochtief-published release.
In a separate release dated September 10, Hochtief AG said CIMIC Group company Leighton Asia had been awarded a contract by a multinational technology corporation to construct a data center in Hyderabad, India. The project is to be delivered in a joint venture with Sterling and Wilson, and construction was scheduled to commence immediately, the company-published release said.
