Hexagon takes full ownership of ZG Technology
In a September 7, 2026 release distributed by Cision, Hexagon said it acquired the remaining 49 percent of Wuhan ZG Automation Technology, bringing its ownership of the 3D scanning specialist to 100 percent. Hexagon said it had acquired a 51 percent majority stake in August 2021 and had consolidated ZG within its Manufacturing Intelligence business area since then.
ZG develops handheld 3D scanning technology. Hexagon said the acquisition gives it unrestricted access to ZG's intellectual property and enables a single handheld scanning platform across its Manufacturing Intelligence portfolio. The company said the acquisition has no material impact on its financial results.
