GTT Energy reports LNG carrier order

On September 23, 2026, GTT said that its GTT Energy business unit had received an order from Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding in the third quarter for the tank design of one new liquefied natural gas carrier on behalf of an Asian shipowner. The vessel will have a total capacity of 18,700 m³ and will use GTT’s Mark III membrane containment system. Delivery is scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2028, according to the GTT release.

In a September 22 release, GTT Energy also presented developments at Gastech 2026, including approvals in principle for a 174,000 m³ LNG carrier using GTT NEXT1 membrane technology and a joint development project with Shell and Lloyd’s Register for a conceptual 200,000 m³ LNG carrier with hybrid-electric propulsion. The details were provided in a separate GTT release.
