Tennessee concession reaches commercial close
On September 30, Ferrovial announced that commercial close had been reached with the Tennessee Department of Transportation for the I-24 Southeast Choice Lanes project in Nashville. The Ferrovial release said the agreement establishes the contractual framework for the project, which it described as Tennessee’s largest single capital investment and first public-private partnership.
Project scope
Under the agreement, the Ferrovial-led DriveTN consortium will finance, design, build, operate and maintain the lanes under a 50-year concession beginning when they open to traffic, according to the company’s announcement. The project will add new lanes in both directions along a 26-mile stretch of I-24 between Nashville and Murfreesboro. Ferrovial said the lanes are designed to provide more reliable travel times and improve traffic flow in the general-purpose lanes.
