Erste Group stock: bank joins financing for North Macedonia wind farm

The bank is working with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and the International Finance Corporation on a senior financing package of more than EUR 115.00 million. The project’s total investment volume is around EUR 180.00 million. Erste Group said the transaction includes lending, structuring and implementation functions.
Wind project details
The Štip project will have a capacity of 131.25 megawatts and is designed to generate electricity for more than 35,000 households. The company said the wind farm is expected to avoid up to 300,000 metric tons of carbon dioxide emissions annually. Construction comprises 21 turbines, each with a capacity of 6.25 megawatts, and full operation is planned for 2028. The project forms the first phase of a wider wind-energy cluster with planned capacity of up to 396 megawatts. The company release also identified Erste Group as intercreditor agent and said Sparkasse Bank AD Skopje acts as security agent.
