Contemporary Amperex Technology stock: Debrecen plant begins trial production

The trial phase is intended to set up, optimize and validate production equipment and manufacturing processes before series production, according to CATL.
Debrecen expansion
CATL said its Debrecen facility had already produced 537,000 battery modules since module manufacturing began in autumn 2024. Once completed, the Hungarian plant is expected to become the company’s largest manufacturing base outside China, with planned capacity of 100 GWh, the company said in the same release.
Logistics cooperation
On September 18, 2026, Contemporary Amperex Technology and Kuehne+Nagel signed a memorandum of understanding covering battery logistics, transport electrification and emissions-reduction initiatives. The initial projects include electrifying CATL transport flows in Europe and a battery-swapping pilot for heavy-duty trucks in China, according to CATL.
