FY2026 results
Close Brothers Group plc reported results for the year ended July 31, 2026, through an RNS announcement carried by FT.com. Adjusted operating profit fell 17 percent year over year to GBP 120.3 million, while adjusted operating income declined 6 percent to GBP 642.9 million. The statutory operating loss before tax narrowed to GBP 60.3 million from GBP 122.4 million.
The group said it delivered approximately GBP 36 million of annualized cost savings in FY2026 against a target of approximately GBP 25 million. Its loan book was GBP 9.5 billion at July 31, 2026, and its CET1 capital ratio was 14.1 percent. Close Brothers also said it would not pay a final ordinary dividend for FY2026 because of continued uncertainty surrounding the FCA’s motor finance consumer redress scheme.
