Celanese stock: company announces engineered-material price increases

Celanese announced price increases for selected engineered materials effective October 8, 2026. The company also recently expanded its board to 11 directors.

Celanese Corporation announced on September 24, 2026, that it will increase prices for ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene and polyoxymethylene engineered materials. The increases will apply to shipments on or after October 8, 2026, or as contracts otherwise allow. Celanese said individual grades may be subject to higher increases.

Selected regional increases

For GUR-branded UHMW-PE, the announced increase is $0.30 per kilogram in Asia. For POM products sold under the Hostaform, Celcon, Amcel and Kepital brands, the increase is $0.30 per kilogram in Asia and EUR 0.30 per kilogram in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Board expanded

In a September 16, 2026, Form 8-K, Celanese Corporation reported that its board increased from 10 to 11 members through the election of Luis Fernandez-Moreno. He is expected to serve until the 2027 annual meeting of shareholders, and the filing said he had not yet been appointed to a board committee. The company identified him as independent under applicable SEC and NYSE standards. The SEC filing said 10 of the 11 directors were independent.
