Boston Scientific Corporation said a cybersecurity incident identified on August 25 is likely to materially affect its third-quarter and full-year 2026 results. In a September 8 filing with the SEC, the company said it was unlikely to meet its previously issued net sales growth and adjusted EPS guidance ranges for both periods.
Operations recover after network disruption
The incident affected certain information technology systems and disrupted manufacturing, order processing and product shipments. Boston Scientific said major distribution centers were processing and shipping customer orders at or above normal operating levels, while sterilization facilities were operational and manufacturing had resumed across most facilities globally, according to the SEC filing.
The company said the disruption to remote-monitoring activations had been resolved and that activation capability could resume, according to its September 8 investor update.
Outlook update planned for October 28
Boston Scientific said it expected to recover some portion of affected revenue as operations ramped up and backlogs were reduced, but that the full impact was not yet known. The company said it planned to provide an updated operational and financial outlook during its conference call on October 28, 2026, when it discusses third-quarter results, according to the SEC filing.
