In a September 17, 2026 release, Biogen announced publication of a prespecified adolescent subgroup analysis from the Phase 3 VALIANT study of EMPAVELI, or pegcetacoplan, in the Clinical Journal of the American Society of Nephrology.
The company said adolescents treated with EMPAVELI achieved a 75 percent relative reduction in proteinuria versus placebo at Week 26. The adolescent cohort included 55 participants; 71 percent of those receiving EMPAVELI achieved at least a 50 percent reduction in proteinuria, compared with 4 percent receiving placebo, according to the release.
