Second-quarter profit increased
In a release dated September 23, PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk, listed as IDX: BBRI, reported second-quarter 2026 net profit of IDR 31.2 trillion, up 17.5 percent year over year. According to PR Newswire, consolidated assets reached IDR 2,352 trillion, while loans and financing rose 16.2 percent year over year to IDR 1,646 trillion. Net interest income increased 9.9 percent to IDR 80.5 trillion, and pre-provision operating profit rose 12.8 percent to IDR 65.7 trillion.
On a bank-only basis, the lender said its non-performing-loan ratio declined to 2.9 percent from 3.0 percent a year earlier. Loans to micro, small and medium-sized enterprises reached IDR 1,235.4 trillion at the end of the second quarter, representing 75.1 percent of BRI Group's total loan and financing portfolio, the release said.
