BAE Systems completes counter-drone trials
In a release published October 1, BAE Systems said it had completed live trials of its Anti Threat System, or BATS, in Scotland. The two-week trials demonstrated a unified command-and-control architecture connecting sensing, decision-making and response options against uncrewed aerial threats, according to BAE Systems.
The company said the trial covered detection and situational awareness, the integration of electronic warfare and software-defined radio technologies, and a full end-to-end chain in a more complex tactical scenario. BAE Systems said it is progressing BATS toward operational deployment and expanding its sensing, countermeasure and threat-intelligence capabilities.
