AXA outlines share buyback and new targets
In a press release published October 1, 2026, AXA said it had executed a share repurchase agreement with an investment services provider. The agreement covers a maximum of EUR 470.80 million in shares to be bought back for cancellation in connection with the 2026 employee share offering. The purchase price will be based on the arithmetic average of daily volume-weighted average AXA share prices over 20 trading days starting October 2, 2026, with transactions not extending beyond October 29, 2026.
In its September 15, 2026 strategy release, AXA set a 2027-2029 target for underlying earnings per share compound annual growth of 7% to 9%. It also targeted underlying return on equity of 15% to 17%, about EUR 25 billion of cumulative organic cash upstream and a total payout ratio of 75% for the plan period.
