AstraZeneca stock: Alexion to present Phase III rare-disease data at ASBMR

AstraZeneca's Alexion rare-disease unit will present Phase III data and other research at the American Society for Bone and Mineral Research annual meeting from October 9 to October 12, 2026. The company separately announced completion of a $2 billion equity investment in Summit Therapeutics.
Rare-disease data due at ASBMR
AstraZeneca said Alexion, AstraZeneca Rare Disease, will deliver 16 presentations, including three oral presentations, at the Boston meeting. The program includes results from the Phase III HICKORY trial of efzimfotase alfa in treatment-naive adolescents and adults with hypophosphatasia, as well as Phase III CALYPSO data on eneboparatide in adults with chronic hypoparathyroidism.
Summit investment completed
AstraZeneca announced on October 5, 2026, that it had completed the equity investment in Summit Therapeutics. The investment is intended to support development of ivonescimab, a bispecific antibody targeting PD-1 and VEGF, in combination with antibody-drug conjugates across tumor types. The companies also have a clinical collaboration covering sonesitatug vedotin and ivonescimab.
