Power project insurance program
Aon said on September 28, 2026, that it launched its Power Lifecycle Program, an integrated insurance solution for conventional gas power projects. The program is designed to cover projects from construction through testing, commissioning and early operations.
According to the company’s release, the program generally includes up to USD 2.5 billion in Erection All Risks and Delay in Startup coverage per project during construction, testing and commissioning. It also generally includes up to USD 2.5 billion in operational property damage and business interruption coverage per project for the immediate operational period, plus up to USD 100 million in construction and operational third-party liability coverage, excluding U.S. projects.
Aon said the program is available to power infrastructure developers, private equity firms financing projects, contractors controlling construction coverage and power infrastructure owners. Eligible projects include grid-connected standalone conventional gas facilities and dedicated facilities supporting data centers.
