Amcor has announced a transition in its board leadership, with Graeme Liebelt set to retire from the board at the company’s annual meeting of stockholders on November 11, 2026. The company said Liebelt has served as chairman of Amcor plc and its predecessor for nearly 13 years. Amcor reported that Tom Long, an independent non-executive director since 2017, will assume the chairman role after Liebelt’s retirement.
Leadership change
Long previously served as chief executive officer of MillerCoors LLC and is chairman of Wolverine Worldwide’s board. Amcor CEO Peter Konieczny thanked Liebelt for his service and said he looked forward to working with Long and the other directors. Amcor’s announcement said Long’s appointment follows the board’s decision on the succession.
Packaging showcase planned
Amcor also said it will present packaging products and technologies at CibusTec 2026 in Parma, Italy, from October 27 through October 30. The company plans to highlight rigid packaging, closures, specialty formats, lightweighting, PCR integration and recyclability validation, including its newly launched UniPak Luma platform. Amcor said the platform is designed for cold- and ambient-filled dairy, chilled and dry-food applications.
