Sangdong receives operating certification
In a September 21, 2026 release, Almonty said its Sangdong processing plant and crushing facilities in South Korea had received mining facility inspection certificates issued September 17. The certificates authorize commercial operation and the processing of tungsten ore into saleable concentrate for South Korean and export markets.
The company said the concentrate is substantially contracted. An amended offtake agreement with Global Tungsten & Powders LLC, a member of Austria's Plansee Group, extends the term to 21 years from first delivery and covers 4,410,000 metric tonne units of tungsten concentrate, including minimum contracted volumes of 210,000 metric tonne units per year after ramp-up, according to the release.
Rwanda tungsten partnership
In a September 14, 2026 announcement, Almonty said it had entered a binding agreement under which the Government of Rwanda will receive a 25% interest in Almonty Rwanda Pty Ltd in exchange for the Shyorongi tungsten exploration concession and a mineral processing license. Almonty will hold the remaining 75%. The partnership also covers the acquisition, upgrading and export of ore, pre-concentrate and panning tailings from Rwandan mining license holders.
