In a September 11, 2026 release, GlobeNewswire reported that Ageas completed the sale of its 30.95 percent stake in Maybank Ageas Holdings Berhad to Maybank. The total cash consideration was equivalent to EUR 1.10 billion, including a EUR 53.00 million pre-completion dividend.
The transaction generated a net capital gain after tax of EUR 464.00 million. Ageas said the sale added 23.00 percentage points to its Solvency II ratio and enhanced the group’s financial flexibility, according to the same release.
