- The XRP Ledger activated the fixCleanup3_4_0 amendment on November 4 to address a token-permission weakness affecting issued assets.
- Investing.com listed XRP at 1.1931 USD, with a market capitalization of 75.89 billion USD and 24-hour volume of 2.87 billion USD.
- The proposed native lending protocol had 21 of 35 validator votes on November 6, below the 29-vote threshold needed to start its activation period.
The XRP Ledger has moved a recent security correction into production, but its proposed native lending system still faces a validator-support gap. The development gives XRP holders a concrete network milestone to monitor without establishing a direct cause for the token's market performance.
Security amendment is now active
According to U.Today, the XRP Ledger activated the fixCleanup3_4_0 amendment on November 4. The change addresses a potential delegated-permission weakness that could have allowed an account authorized to destroy issued tokens to create additional tokens under specific conditions. The correction affects issued assets such as stablecoins, while XRP's native supply is unaffected.
CoinDesk reported before activation that the amendment had also included corrections for trading pools, vault calculations and lending-related functions. The report said no public exploitation of the permission issue had been identified.
Lending remains below the threshold
The security update should not be confused with the proposed native lending launch. The Crypto Basic reported on November 6 that the LendingProtocol amendment had 21 supporting validators out of 35. At least 29 votes, representing more than 80 percent, are needed before a two-week activation countdown can begin. The required support must then remain in place throughout that period.
The proposed system would provide fixed-term lending through pooled assets and Single Asset Vaults, while credit assessment would remain off-chain. Until the relevant amendments receive sufficient support and complete the activation process, the functionality remains a proposal rather than an available XRPL service.
Price context for XRP holders
On November 7, Investing.com listed XRP/USD at 1.1931 USD. The page also showed a 24-hour volume of 2.87 billion USD, a market capitalization of 75.89 billion USD, a rank of five and 63.52 billion XRP in circulation. Its displayed daily range was 1.1756 to 1.2226 USD. These figures describe the quote page's market snapshot; they do not establish that the amendment caused a price move.
The XRP price therefore remains a market indicator alongside, rather than a substitute for, protocol progress. Investors tracking the XRP price may want to distinguish completed network changes from proposed upgrades and monitor validator voting before treating lending as an operational catalyst.
