The TA-35 ended the Tel Aviv trading session on November 4, 2026, down 1.96% at 3,969.53 points. The benchmark slipped below 4,000 points and reached a new six-month low, according to Globes.
Broad pressure across key sectors
The decline was led by losses in communication, insurance and financial stocks. Globes reported that the Insurance Index fell 2.37% and the Oil and Gas Index lost 1.86%, while the Energy and Infrastructure Index rose 0.89%. The market's performance contrasted with sharp gains in global equities following the US midterm elections.
Enlight gains while technology stocks fall
Enlight Renewable Energy was the strongest performer within the TA-35, rising 6.06%. Globes linked the move to expectations that the Democratic midterm election victory could support renewable-energy projects. Ormat Technologies gained 2.85%, while ICL rose 1.36%.
Several large technology and dual-listed stocks moved lower. Camtek fell 7.76%, the sharpest decline among TA-35 constituents cited by Globes. Tower Semiconductor lost 5.13%, Elbit Systems declined 3.14% and NICE fell 3.20% after lowering its growth outlook for cloud activities. Teva dropped 2.87%.
Market breadth remained negative
The selling pressure extended beyond a small group of index constituents. Investing.com reported that 359 stocks declined on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange, compared with 115 advancing stocks, while 82 ended unchanged. The breadth figures point to a broadly weaker session rather than an isolated decline in the benchmark.
The November 4 close followed a 0.29% gain for the TA-35 in the previous session, when the index ended at 4,048.94 points. The latest move therefore reversed that modest recovery and returned the benchmark to the lower levels seen earlier in the week.
