- Banking, financial and insurance stocks led the rebound, while Nova was the strongest listed TA-35 performer.
- The recovery followed a 3.69% decline on Thursday, when index rebalancing contributed to unusually high trading turnover.
The TA-35 closed at 3,941.14 points on Friday, November 6, 2026, a gain of 3.09% from Thursday's close at 3,823.18 points. The official Tel Aviv Stock Exchange market data recorded Friday's high at 3,947.93 points and low at 3,826.92 points.
Financial stocks lead rebound
Banking, financial and insurance shares provided the main support in Friday's session. Ynet reported that the insurance index rose 4%, while the broader financial index gained 3.6% and the banking index advanced 3.3%.
Among TA-35 constituents, Nova was the strongest performer, rising 7.29%. Israel Discount Bank gained 5.60%, while Camtek advanced 5.24%. The market breadth was positive: 349 stocks rose, compared with 119 decliners, and 88 shares ended unchanged, according to Investing.com.
Rebound follows heavy Thursday losses
Friday's increase came after two steep declines. The index fell 3.69% on Thursday to a new six-month low, while the broader market was also pressured by technology and defense stocks. Globes reported that Thursday's equity turnover reached 19.39 billion New Israeli shekels, with the index revision driving substantial buying and selling by funds tracking the affected benchmarks.
Ynet attributed the broader volatility to concerns over artificial-intelligence investment and possible effects from the United States midterm elections, while noting that Friday's move recovered only part of the losses recorded earlier in the week. The rebound therefore improved the short-term index picture but did not by itself reverse the preceding correction.
