- Stellar's Bell Protocol 30 combines muxed contract addresses, ML-DSA verification for smart contracts and millisecond ledger timing.
- The mainnet validator vote is scheduled for November 23, 2026, at 1700 UTC, subject to approval and possible schedule changes.
- Investing.com displayed XLM at USD 0.16105, with a USD 5.69 billion market capitalization and a 52-week range of USD 0.13725 to USD 0.31124.
The Stellar price remains in focus as the network approaches the next stage of its Bell Protocol 30 upgrade. At the time of the November 4, 2026 read, Investing.com displayed XLM at USD 0.16105, with a 24-hour volume of USD 104.90 million and a market capitalization of USD 5.69 billion. The page listed a 52-week range of USD 0.13725 to USD 0.31124 and a circulating supply of 35.32 billion XLM.
The near-term event is not a confirmed mainnet activation. The Stellar Development Foundation says validators are scheduled to vote on the mainnet upgrade on November 23, 2026, at 1700 UTC. The foundation also notes that the proposed timetable can change and that Bell takes effect only if validators approve it.
What Bell would change
Bell contains three proposed changes. CAP-84 introduces muxed contract addresses for smart accounts, allowing a contract address to carry a 64-bit identifier. The new address format starts with W and is intended to let businesses distinguish multiple customers while operating through one contract.
CAP-87 adds ML-DSA signature verification to Stellar smart contracts. This creates a building block for contract accounts that use post-quantum authorization, but it is not the same as making every Stellar account post-quantum secure. The foundation states that network transaction signatures remain Ed25519 for now.
CAP-88 changes ledger timing to milliseconds. That removes a technical barrier to potentially faster ledger close times in later protocol changes, but Bell does not itself reduce the current five-second target. The ledger-header change also means that SDKs, indexers, explorers and other systems decoding raw ledger data need compatible updates.
Investor context for XLM
For holders, the main practical issue is infrastructure readiness rather than a token migration. Existing balances do not need to be moved solely because of Bell, while wallets, exchanges and applications must support the new address type and updated ledger definitions before the mainnet vote. The upgrade therefore offers a possible longer-term utility catalyst for institutional and payment infrastructure, but it does not guarantee additional demand for XLM or a price recovery.
The current market picture remains weak relative to the annual range. The displayed price was close to the lower end of that range, while the Stellar price had no verified UTC previous-day closing basis available in the reviewed data for calculating a comparable daily move. The figures should therefore be read as a dated market snapshot, not as a synchronized UTC-day performance measure.
