The index lost 14.33 points in the final session before the closure, Xinhua reported. The move left the Shenzhen Component lower as Chinese shares ended a mixed session ahead of the week-long break.
Pharmaceutical shares led gains, while semiconductor and electronics stocks were among the decliners, according to Xinhua. The Shanghai and Shenzhen exchanges recorded combined stock turnover of 1.44 trillion CNY, up from 1.41 trillion CNY in the previous session.

The Shenzhen Component is scheduled to resume trading on Thursday, October 8, after the National Day holiday. The Shanghai and Shenzhen exchanges remain closed from October 1 through October 7, with trading suspended for the full seven-day period, InvestingLive reported.
