- The Shenzhen Component closed 1.19% higher at 11,471.09 points on November 5, 2026.
- Photovoltaic, precious-metals and computing-power-leasing stocks led gains, while coal, banking and brokerage shares declined.
- Policy support helped sentiment, although market observers continued to see stronger growth and earnings as important for a sustained recovery.
The Shenzhen Component finished Thursday, November 5, 2026, at 11,471.09 points, up 1.19% from the previous session. The close was reported by Xinhua after the Shenzhen market session had ended.
Growth-sensitive sectors lead advance
Xinhua said photovoltaic, precious-metals and computing-power-leasing stocks led the gains. Coal, banking and brokerage shares were among the notable decliners. Turnover across stocks covered by the Shanghai Composite and Shenzhen Component totaled about 2.12 trillion yuan, compared with 2.04 trillion yuan in the previous trading session.
Policy support remains a market factor
Trading Economics attributed the broader advance to continued support from Beijing's latest intervention measures. The measures described in its report included targeted liquidity injections, lower interest rates on stock buyback loans and eased restrictions on leveraged trading. The same report noted that investors remained cautious about the durability of the recovery without stronger economic growth, improving corporate earnings and a revival in confidence.
Second consecutive daily gain
The close extended the Shenzhen Component's 4.22% advance on November 4 to 11,335.69 points, according to the latest report on the Shenzhen Component topic page. That comparison indicates a further 135.40-point increase in the latest session. The index is designed to represent large and liquid A-share companies listed on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange, according to the China Securities Index Company index profile. The policy measures have improved near-term sentiment, but the reported sector rotation and continued weakness in financial and energy-related groups show that the advance was not uniform.
