Drivers of the last session
Health care was a major drag on the small-cap benchmark. Swingfolio reported that the Russell 2000 fell as health care sold off, with the biotechnology-focused XBI ETF down 3.39 percent.
The broader market backdrop was mixed for smaller companies. The 10-year Treasury yield ended at 5.27 percent after easing from a more than two-decade high, while Brent crude settled at USD 100.58 per barrel, according to Investrade. The Russell 2000 nevertheless lagged the large-cap indexes, which benefited from strength in artificial-intelligence and power-related shares.
