The Russell 2000 heads into Friday after rising 37.7 points, or 1.4 percent, to 2,767 points on October 15. The rebound followed a session in which investors rotated away from artificial-intelligence shares and into broader market exposure, Edge Consultancy reports.
Russell 2000 futures rose 0.4 percent to 2,792 points at 4:31 a.m. ET on October 16, according to Oxtane. The move offers a higher opening cue after Thursday's advance.
Why did the Russell 2000 rebound?
September producer prices rose 1.3 percent month over month, against a 0.6 percent consensus. Retail sales also beat expectations, while Treasury yields eased during Thursday's session. The Russell 2000 gained as money rotated beyond technology, according to Yahoo Finance.
Thursday's small-cap market cues
Healthcare, materials and consumer discretionary led the broader rebound, while technology and energy lagged. CoreWeave closed 5.9 percent higher after recovering from a sharp early decline, providing a notable cross-market signal for the artificial-intelligence trade, Yahoo Finance reports.
